Chosen for the Ohio Art League’s Fall exhibit. This female cardinal is all fluffed up for her winter perch on my pine tree bough. Beautiful in her own way, the female cardinal is not as colorful as her bright red counterpart. The female and the juveniles are a more muted color. Their subtle coloring is to help camouflage the female and her young — to keep them safer from predators. What is more beautiful than that. This acrylic painting is created on a 16×20 stretched canvas that is framed, wired and ready to hang.
