Desert Lights

The desert at night was my inspiration for this painting. In Arizona, there’s a lookout mountain that you precariously travel, before dusk of course, to view the city of Phoenix. Then you watch the magic happen as the lights dance and sparkle while the sun goes down. The ‘lights’ were accomplished using Swarovski crystals, sparkly bits of gold, silver, and copper leaf attached in patterns that mimic city street patterns and lights from homes and businesses. Painted on a 14X18″ stretched canvas, nestled in a black floater frame. Currently on exhibit at Expressions Gallery in Auburn, Indiana.
